Different Types of Cosmetic Bases

Posted on Tue, Mar 01, 2022 by Amit Bambral

A makeup base, also known as a primer, is a natural moisturizer that is applied topically before applying foundation or concealer. Generally, it provides a translucent finish or a very subtle tint. The goal is to hide lines, wrinkles, and blemishes while providing a smooth canvas for foundation or concealer to work with. It also works to absorb oil and reduce shine throughout the day, extending the wear of your makeup. A makeup base is usually oil-free and may contain hydrating elements to nourish the skin while also acting as a makeup base. Take a look at the post below to learn about the top types of cosmetic bases in the market.

Emulsions/Creams

Many cosmetics contain incompatible raw components, therefore a cream or emulsion is applied. Emulsifiers are immiscible liquids spread in another liquid to form a pseudo-stable mixture. Hand moisturizers, makeup, hair conditioners, sunscreens, and other similar items are made by using emulsifiers. You'll need a three part formula to make it: an oil phase, an aqueous, and an emulsifier. The mixture is created by heating the oil and water phases separately, combining them while they are still hot, and then thoroughly mixing them until they cool down. The result is a cream containing minute particles distributed evenly in the mixture.

Premium Base Lotion

Although creams might be excessively thick or oily for the purpose of a cosmetic base, they are not always acceptable. This includes lotions. Lotions are cimply creams that have been thinned out. Moisturizers for the face, leave-in hair conditioners, and moisturizing cleansers are all made using lotions. Even though they are emulsive, lotions are created the same way creams are. They're a simpler combination since you don't have to worry about the emulsion thickening as it cools.

Eye Serum for Dark Circles

Eye Serum for Dark Circles

This dark circle eye serum has a light, yet luxuriously silky texture that glides across the skin effortlessly and is designed to absorb into the skin quickly. A high quality extract is added, which is said to have antioxidant capabilities that may treat small burns, abrasions, pimples, and blemishes. This base works to diminish the appearance of puffiness and dark circles by soothing the sensitive skin of the under-eye region.

Gels

Gels are another prevalent type of cosmetic base. Shear-thinning is a feature of thick, typically transparent products. This implies they will remain thick until you apply enough force to thin it out and allow it to spread. Hair gels, body cleansers, shave gels, and toothpaste are all examples of gels. A gelling agent, such as an acrylic polymer, natural gum, or cellulose thickening is used to create gels.

Ultra Premium Body Butter Base

This thick cosmetic base may be used all over the body to provide intense hydration, making it great for nourishing and moisturizing dehydrated and dry skin. It's easy to apply to the face and absorbs rapidly, leaving no sticky residue behind. These bases are devoid of SLS, parabens, and gluten and are made with numerous natural components. It is dependable and well-suited to modification, making it particularly responsive to any additions, all the while being carefully made with some of the mildest chemicals.

What are the advantages of utilizing organic and natural high quality skin care products?

Whatever products you use should only be as good as your skincare regime. Higher quality products are safe and effective, and they may be available in special formulas for your particular skin type and other conditions. These products can refine the texture and look of your skin while also safeguarding it from the damaging effects of sunlight, contaminants, and other factors that can harm your skin.
