Botanical name: Helichrysum italicum

Extraction method: Slovenia Helichrysum Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flowers of a varietal of the Helichrysum plant botanically known as Helichrysum italicum. Steam is carefully controlled and passed over the flowers so that Essential Oil is released while protecting the temperature-sensitive aromatic and botanical compounds in it.

Origin: Slovenia

Description: the Helichrysum plant boasts over 500 species and Helichrysum italicum is one of them. Indigenous to the Mediterranean and Asia, the Helichrysum plant is evergreen and sports gray-silver grass and tiny daisy-like yellow flowers growing in clusters.

This Slovenia Helichrysum Essential Oil is steam distilled from the Helichrysum italicum varietal. We also stock the more exotic South Africa Helichrysum Essential Oil that is steam distilled from the Helichrysum splendidum varietal.

* Note: different individuals have different levels of tolerance for Essential Oils when it comes to topical application. Especially when applying Essential Oil to broken skin, it’s recommended that you start with a lower dose first before trying a slightly higher dose should the need arises. It’s safe for adults to stay within a 1-2% Essential Oil dilution (1% dilution = 1 drop of Essential Oil per teaspoon of carrier oil)

Blends well with:  Chamomile, Lavender, Clary Sage, Rose, Clove Bud, and any of the oils from the citrus oil family.

Aromatic scent: powerful scent that is rich and honey-sweet

Helichrysum Essential OIl

I will work with the oil to break down scar tissue in my knee after knee replacement surgery. The scent of the oil is often different from different areas. I like the Corsican one better than this one. That doesn't mean that this one can't be effective for the use I want it for. I prefer the other one to add to anything cosmetic.
