Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil CO2 Extracted
Botanical name: Cinnamomum cassia blume
Extraction method: Chinese Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is extracted from the bark of the Chinese Cinnamon (a.k.a Cassia) using the carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction method. The CO2 extraction method yields a greater number of aromatic and botanical compounds from the Chinese Cinnamon tree than any other distillation process.
Description: The Chinese Cinnamon tree is an evergreen that’s native to China and several Southeast Asian countries. It can grow to about 33-49 ft (10-15 meters) with shiny, leathery green leaves, and has a grayish bark from which Essential Oil is extracted from.
* Note: Chinese Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil and Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil are extracted from different trees that are grown in different parts of the world, though the two trees belong to the same botanical family, Cinnamomum. The two Essential Oils smell alike and have similar therapeutic benefits, with Chinese Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil being more wallet-friendly.
Blends well with: Lemon, Frankincense, Cedarwood, Lavender, Orange, Neroli, and Ylang-ylang
Aromatic scent: warm, spicy scent that is slightly herbaceous with subtle pepper notes; though Chinese Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil smells similar to its Ceylon cousin, its aroma is often perceived to be less fragrant and refined
