Botanical name: Juniperus virginiana

Extraction method: Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil is steam distilled from the wood of the Virginia Cedar tree (a.k.a Eastern Red Cedar or Pencil Cedar). As the temperature of the steam is carefully controlled, the delicate botanical and aromatic compounds are preserved and bottled to you.

Origin: Canada

Description: The Virginian Cedarwood is an alpine evergreen that grows up to 23 ft (7 meters). It has a narrow, conical crown made up of stiff, green needles. While the tree is native to southwestern USA, Mexico and Central America, the major essential oil production place is in Texas.

Blends well with: Rosewood, Bergamot, Cypress, Cassia, Jasmine, Juniper, Neroli, Labdanum, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Rosemary, Ylang-ylang

Aromatic scent: fresh, smooth, woody and slightly sweet, less harsh than its Chinese Cedarwood Essential Oil cousin
