Botanical Name: Matricaria chamomilla L

Extraction Method: German Chamomile Essential Oil is steam distilled from the flower heads of the German Chamomile plant. As the temperature of the steam is carefully controlled, only the Essential Oil is released while the aromatic and botanical compounds are preserved.

Origin: Egypt

Description: Often referred to as Blue Chamomile or True Chamomile, the German Chamomile plant grows wild throughout Europe. Abundantly cultivated in Hungary and then exported to Germany for essential oil extraction, that’s perhaps how the “German” in its name came about. The plant also exists in Egypt since thousands of centuries ago and is now widely cultivated in Egypt. Growing up to 24 inches (60 cm), the herb has pretty daisy-like flowers with white, droopy petals and golden yellow centers.

Blends well with: Ylang-ylang, Bergamot, Jasmine, Clary Sage, Lavender, Geranium, Lemon, Patchouli, Tea Tree, Rose, Neroli

Aromatic scent: strong, strong, herbaceous aroma with hints of sweetness
